About This Nest Box
This Blue tit nest box was built and installed in County Laois. It is constructed from WBP plywood painted with 3 coats of exterior woodpaint.
We Installed it just before winter 2025
Construction
- 18mm Plywood
- Felted roof with side overhang
- Mounted securely to an ash tree
Camera Setup
Inside the box:
TP-Link Tapo C110 3MP camera
Custom Arduino nano – that runs a daylight sensor. This keeps the light on during the day , to stop the camera going into Black and white IR mode. The light then gradually turns off based on outside ambient light levels.
